Lake Cumberland

Picture
Lake Cumberland is the largest lake by volume east of the Mississippi.  It boasts 1200 miles of lake shore.  Lake Cumberland is known as the Houseboat capital of the world. Lake Cumberland has several National parks, National trail systems, the largest
waterfalls East of the Mississippi excluding Niagra falls, 9 marinas, great
  fishing, and boating activities.

Lake Cumberland is known as one of the best Striper fisheries around along with Walleye and Smallmouth Bass.  Thousands of fisherman descend on Lake  Cumberland year round to accept the challanges 1200 miles of shore line can give.
** NEW in 2011,  Just Hooking Guide Service can pick you up right at the Caney Creek Ramp for your  guided fishing trips
.
Be warned:  Once you visit  Lake Cumberland,  you will want to come back.

Lake Cumberland has many activities happening all summer long.  From just relaxing on the boat to cruising the lake looking at the scenery or the wildlife.  From fishing for that new state record Stripper to rafting up with friends.  From skiing the lake to watching the big boats at the Annual Poker Run in September.

The Ramp and Parking

Picture
The public launch ramp know as Caney Creek Public ramp is right around the corner.  With the water lower until 2014 people part along the shore as shown in the picture to the right.  After 2014, parking will be just above the launch ramp itself to the tight in the picture.  This ramp is a very nice ribbed concrete ramp. Once on the water, the area directly across from the ramp always seems to have fisherman.  I would assume this would mean it is a good fishing spot.  By late morning and early afternoon, the skiers and tubers are seen all over this part of Caneu Creek.  Further upstream are some no wake zones where people sit and enjoy each others company.
